Is JAMB CAPS Portal Officially Activated For 2017 Candidates?

Since the JAMB CAPS portal became accessible online, we have observed, candidates have started hurrying to the JAMB CAPS portal and clicking on any available button they see on it in a bid to confirm their admission status even candidates that have not been offered admission by their school of choice.



This means that JAMB is still working to perfect the portal before it will be used for the purpose of accepting and rejecting admission.

We believe it is not time for candidates to use the CAPS portal yet for the following reason:

1. The portal is showing the same details for all candidates including those that have been admitted by their school of choice and those that have not been admitted which means it is still under construction

2. There is no official statement from JAMB concerning this yet.

3. JAMB is expected to notify candidates directly via through SMS, email and via their JAMB Profiles that they have been offered admission before they can accept or reject the admission (This was announced by JAMB during the CAPS sensitization). No candidate has gotten such message yet.

In view of all these, we advise candidates to keep calm and wait for JAMB to either notify them of the admission or make an official announcement concerning this.

For those who have clicked all the available button on the portal already, we can’t authoritatively say if it means anything or not but we believe it won’t count since the portal is still being worked on.
