Thief Beheads Farmer In Mbano As Road Accident Claims Two Lives

Mr. Godwin Chukwunyere, a farmer and a native of Umuezeochim in Umueze II, Ehime Mbano LGA was killed in his farm by a suspected thief (name withheld) on Saturday 29th September 2018.


Trouble started when the farm owner, Godwin discovered that an unknown person was cutting his bunch of plantain in his nearby farm. He accosted the suspect who attacked him with a cutlass, decapitating his head. The suspect took to his heels after the dastardly act and reported himself to security operatives at Ehime Mbano police division.


The fleeing vandal abandoned the plantain with the corpse of the deceased lying prostrate as blood flowed. The suspect is helping the homicide section of the police in their investigation. 


Angry youths enraged by the act descended on the family residence of the suspect at Umudimeze Ama destroying the house and everything of value. When visited the residence of the deceased, a father of seven, at Umuezeochim, mourners were seen consoling the widow who was surrounded by her children.


In a related development, there was agony, sorrow and tears at Umuezeala Ehime Mbano recently, as an okada rider, Mr. Eze Udochukwu conveying Miss Blessing Iyiaka, a Higher National Diploma undergraduate of Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo were crushed to death by an Akwa Ibom State bound bus with the inscription “Royal Toyota” with registration number Lagos KTU 397 XM.
