Tragedy As IMSU Final Year Student And Boyfriend Found Dead In Hostel Apartment (Photos)

A 400 level student of Imo state university has been confirmed dead by the police, 

According to reports, she was found dead alongside her lover in her hostel apartment, Police tagged it a case of sudden and unnatural death.

It was a sad day for the family and friends of Blessing Amam, a final year theater art student of Imo state, who went to bed with her boyfriend in her hostel in Umudagu-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of the state on Sunday, June 24, and never saw the light of day again.

According to a neighbour who shared details with Southern City News, it was the smell from the deceased's room that alerted other occupants who had returned from school that something was amiss.

She said: "The students came back from school and started inhaling very offensive smell and on inquiry, it was discovered that it was from Blessing Amam’s room. Her flat mates called her but she did not respond. The door was forcefully opened and behold, Blessing and her lover were found dead. There were blood stains and marks on their bodies. Blood equally gushed out from their mouths and nostrils.”

Expressing concern over the nature of her death, the source claims that Blessing was full of life the day before and that there were no signs showing that there was trouble in her room.

Students who occupied the same compound as hers have since fled the area due to the fear of being arrested in association with the murder.

The state police public relations officer, Andrew Enwerem, confirmed the incident saying: “It was a case of sudden and unnatural death.”

He further revealed that the commissioner has called for a thorough investigation to be carried out.
The Director of Information, IMSU Students’ Union Government, who also confirmed the death of the final year student and her boyfriend, adding that a similar incident has occurred the past in a 'house somewhere in Owerri'. Blessing was expected to graduate in August.
